Meet the team
John has extensive experience in patent drafting and prosecution, particularly in the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, and software.
John is involved in the training of patent attorneys on behalf of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys and sets one of the qualifying exams on their behalf. John also teaches a course in Intellectual Property Law for the University of York.
Before joining the profession, John was a research fellow at the University of Cambridge and Institut Laue Langevin in Grenoble. John has a degree in physics from the University of Oxford and a PhD in solid state physics from the University of Cambridge. John also has a further degree in computing.
